1888年当時のもので、全51種。ほとんど存在しないナイアガラの滝を含みます。当時の統治者、国旗と紋章が美しいデザイン。コレクターのみならず緻密で品格あるカードに感動するシリーズ。
当時のリソグラフの手法の印刷が鮮やかな色彩を残しています。コンプリートした貴重な品です。1枚目のようにEnglandは3つ折り部が分離、Badenは折り目部に欠けあり。その他は目立つダメージのないVG級です。
極めて貴重な上に、なかなかコレクターが手放さないため、コンプリートするにはmurray's相場以上の費用要します。他の種の写真は別ページをご覧ください。

■CigaretteCard、TobbacoCardについて:
日本でもお菓子におまけのカードがありそのコレクターは多いと思います。同様の販売促進のため、CigaretteCardというものが存在し、海外に多くのコレクターが居ます。
古くは1890年ぐらいからで、Duke、KinneyやAllen&Ginterなど優れたモダンアートのようなデザインのカードが発行されていました。
例えば、Kinneyの1888harlequincardsはその抽象的で優れたデザインがTiffanyに採用されました。その他、Allen&Ginterの野球選手のカードは日本円で3億円近くの値でオークション取引きされるなど、とても貴重なものもあります。
価値はさまざまで1930年ぐらい以降になると数十円～数千円ぐらいに落ちつきます。
最近では、イギリスのアンティーク街でフレームに入れひとつの絵画作品として売られるようになりました。
本当に美しいデザインが多く、少しでもCigaretteCardの存在が広まれば、と願って、私が個人で集めたコレクションを少しずつ出して行こうと思います。
